She is HOME!!!

Wow!!! It has been a wild couple of weeks!!
Our laptop crashed last year during our fundraising frenzy and we haven't bought a new one because every penny we had that didn't go to everyday life went to adoption expenses... so I rarely get the chance to update this blog... but will try to do my best as I can.

We just want to thank everyone first for all the help and support over the last year that helped to bring our daughter home. We know that without that love, support, and help we would not have been able to do it, and we are so thankful that God compelled hearts to help!!! THANK YOU!

Katerina is doing great.
She fits it very nicely to our family.... we are working through a few small things, (such as throwing, spitting, and pushing) but those things are so minimal we have been blown away by how easy it has been.... we had this picture in our minds and were thinking that this next year would be so rough... full of tantrums and crying and transition.... but nope... she is such a sweet gift... such a sweet blessing.
She LOVES her little brother Noah... who happens to be bigger than her. They really clicked right away. They are best friends!
Her and Olivia play ok, but Noah is "her guy" and she says his name VERY clearly.

She sleeps well, eats well, plays well.... really... it has been a breeze so far. I kinda feel like I am waiting for the floor to fall out from under us, like the honeymoon is going to come to an end... but everyday, she is the same.... she wakes up with a smile... we fall into our daily routine... the littles are dressed and made ready for the day and we go down stairs to eat breakfast... then they play as the table is cleared... she loves to color, and paint and play with blocks (She LOVES to build with the green blocks... she prefers green. ;) and dance... she loves cartoons and getting her fingernails painted.... she is a girly girl!
She MUST have a purse... she always has one close by that she fills with little treasures... she loves pretending that she is talking on the phone (and the "phone" can be anything... a play phone, a block, whatever; she has quite an imagination). She learns very quickly.
She has learned several English words and signs... she loves playing in the bath tub, and when it is time for bed, she loves daddy to come in and sit beside her bed while she falls asleep....

She really loves having brothers and sisters and has latched on to all of them... and they really love her too.

We have a lot of specialist appointment set up for the next few weeks... she did great at the pediatrician's office and was very brave.... she loves her daddy though and needed him to stand next to her... she will come sit next to me and wants me to feed her (although she can feed and dress herself, she likes me to "baby" her).... she even came to me when she fell down and wanted reassurance and love.,... but when daddy is home... it's all about him. ;) and that's ok, he is pretty smitten with her too. ;)

So ready for our little girl to come home!!!

We thought she would be able to spend the holidays with us, but since offices will be closed for a couple of weeks in Dec, she won't... but we know that God has ordained the day that she will be here.. and every day is one day closer! :)

She will walk through our front door on January 10, 2014!!!

I'll be a blubbering mess... I'm sure of it!! :)

She is a Tanquary!!!

We are excited to announce that Today Nov 4th, 2013 at 2:37pm (Bulgarian time) the judge pronounced us to be the parents of Katerina Nikolaeva Tanquary!

We have a bit more waiting....
we have to wait for the court decree to be released (typically about 10 days). At that point, the birth certificate will be applied for. The birth certificate is currently taking longer than usual. We will not get travel dates until after the birth certificate is ready and checked for accuracy....

We are hoping and praying that this happens quickly and goes smoothly with no issues!
Today... I'm not going to worry about any of that... Today, we celebrate for the blessing God has given us!!!

Because tomorrow... on the 4th of November, 2013.... she will no longer be an orphan....
Tomorrow is our court date... and the judge (Lord Willing) will finalize our adoption and she will be a Tanquary.

All agency fees have been PAID!
Now we only have to come up with money for traveling expenses.
So blown away!!! :)
God has been so good to us...

Check out our expenses page to see how God has provided!!!!

A little note:.... there have been some changes from the government in regards to traveling requirements that have caused our travel expenses to go up a bit.... but we will not be discouraged and with our eyes to the sky... will press on!! :)
